Josh Kalis comes from Grand Rapids, Michigan, but his name is inseparable from Philadelphia’s LOVE Park. Alongside Stevie Williams and the plaza’s local crew, he helped turn its granite ledges and daily sessions into lasting skateboarding history. His 360 flip over a LOVE Park trash can, captured by photographer Mike Blabac and featured in Photosynthesis, remains a defining image of that era. Kalis later brought that connection home through an indoor granite skatepark in Grand Rapids, incorporating pieces of the original LOVE Park and creating space for another generation of skaters.
