The Virgin de Guadalupe holds a special place in the hearts of millions, and her presence is most notably associated with the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. This iconic shrine is situated on the hill of Tepeyac, the very site where, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego in 1531. The Basilica complex comprises both the original 16th-century chapel, now known as the Old Basilica, and the modern Basilica, completed in 1976, which houses the revered image of the Virgin on Juan Diego's cloak. Pilgrims from all corners of the world converge on this sacred location, particularly during the annual festivities on December 12, commemorating the Virgin's feast day.
