Born in New Jersey and raised in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, John Shanahan brings a distinctive East Coast identity to skateboarding. His technical street skating reflects an appreciation for the late-1990s and early-2000s era, an influence that also appears in his vintage footwear, clothing and creative projects. DGK introduced him in 2016, recognizing his combination of spots, trick selection and personal style. Closing parts in DC’s Street Sweeper, Bronze’s It’s Time and DGK’s Thoro demonstrate the filming and dedication behind that identity.
